My acer laptop touchpad doesn`t work; but when I uninstall PS/2 mouse driver and restart or shutdown it works perfectly after next windows boot. I have re-intsalled Windows 7. Also when Windows instalation started touchpad was working; but when almost finished it stopped working.

I found quiet old post unsolved and find similar problem. Here is the solution. Start | Run | Type or paste: REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL Click OK | Reboot This may work for IE also.

I assume you use Windows XP. Check startup programms using msconfig. Remove ticks of unwanted programs. Restart & apply tick in msconfig utility do not show option. Restart you PC is safe mode. Try Avg antivirus. If problem persist. Tell some one to take team viewer of ur system.

The user ownership issue due to virus problem. May too less page file error at user login startup. And nothing works later. Even check disk. Add local or the user on domain / workgroup as owner to the drive partition
