if you cant turn it off by hitting the numberlock, you can try to open the onscreen keyboard and turn it off there.

I also suspect that your motherboard may be incompatible with your video card. As far as I am concerned, you have done the right things to try and fix the problem but still you can't. I guess if its not the power supply, its gotta be a hardware conflict.
Yeah I get this problem too and there doesn't seem to be any way to stop it other then to just restart the machine. It's very annoying and you would've thought that it would have been fixed by now.
Reload the software and test. Beyond that, try it on another PC if possible. Then check for any updates that have been installed from windows regarding video or players. If there, remove and reboot. hope this helps
