I agree with DMR Before trying repair ... try to put the system in clean boot (follow this article "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353"). If it remains non conclusive try REPAIR REINSTALLATION (follow "http://www.windowsxpprofessional.windowsreinstall.com/indexrepairguides.htm")
Hi Have your tried running a CRC check to validate the downloaded file. If not, look on the WHS site for intsructions on how to check this. You will also need to download a 3rd party tool from the web to check the CRC, but you can google for that. …

Hi if only one of the log ins is facing the issue then it can be a corrupted profile. What happens with teh other profiles ? If other profiles works fine , create a new profile and transfer the data (eg fovorite,desktop etc) GOOD LUCK

Hi Are you trying to upgrade from any legacy OS like 98/me etc. ? if you are upgrading, try to copy the i386 folder in local drive and then run the installation Installation in Xp, if stops between 34 - 37 mins then its an issue while installing the drivers. …
