The only way I know of being an anonymous for max maybe 30 min is to use a WiFi hotspot, have no listening open ports, keep changing your MAC address and constantly flush your cache, cookies and anything that is read to your HD during the session. Spoof your OS …

Yes they do, ClamX is good protection, I use it. Although I have found two viruses in one year, also use Firefox with the NoScript add on.
It will probably cost you more in the fix than buying a printer as they are so cheap now. My advice is to buy another printer. Nothing is impossible but at what price?
Don't exactly know what program you are trying to run but some need 'root' privileges to install. It may be checking that and you don't have those permissions as that logged in user. Try to log in as 'root' but beware unless you really trust the files!
Check your crash log and it will tell you why.
Typical of Ram timing problems. As the ram gets warm it fails. In other words you possibly have a bad stick of ram. Check the crash log, it will tell you why.
It points to a JavaScript file '.js', the file tells the js engine what to do.
It can be of many causes, check the -/Library/Logs and look for the CrashReporter sub-directory. Inside one of these folders will be the crash.log for what keeps quitting. Read it and it should tell you why.
You would be doing them a favor for the future to let them learn some sort of Unix flavor. After all that's where the Web come from, forward slash in the hyper links etc. I have a G4 with 10.4.11 Sonnet powered and it is far from it's use by …
You don't say what the OS is, Tiger, Panther etc. Connection through a basic Ethernet switch should be no problem. Turn off your Apple firewall to start with. Enable sharing. You can test your connection without permission problems by logging into both as 'root' then work backwards. ( log on …
1GB is enough to install Tiger, should be quite straight forward. Give more info on your G5.
Hmm, have had so many problems with safari being so strict on correctly complying web sites I have changed to Fire Fox. Safari plays by the rules, others do not so how can Safari move a mountain? Safari is otherwise such a good browser.
Anything if you have a converter (cheap) or a PC type output on your video card.
Probably a permissions problem after an upgrade via the net. Go to Disk Utilities and run it. You cant drop into anything if you do not have sufficient privileges.
RAM makes a big difference, more the better & check whats running in the background using up cpu cycles. This utility is good for finding out whats going on. http://developer.mabwebdesign.com/ Called App Stop.
You need to get on the ladder. Get a job that introduces you to IT and build off that. Remember, the best jobs come from who you know, not what you know. Start to network with people in the business you want to be part of. Thats about all I …
My advice is 'Don't use Norton' so many hassles. Use 'CamXav' and set it up to scan your Library. It caught 3 viruses last year for me. Well worth the donation. And yes VLC is great!
When you have the other MAC connected via FireWire, on the Master (Laptop) go to 'Applications; Utilities & run Migration Assistant. Follow your nose, there are options for moving the OS onto your G5.
On the MAC go to Terminal and type in 'netstat' this should tell you all thats connected. Could be anything, you have the wrong network mask, ip is not set to the range the server will connect to. Widows sharing not enabled, so many possibilities! Depending on the Windows Server …
Yes, I have issues but it's worth the trouble. Don't forget to send your bug reports to Apple, that's how they get to fix them for us. I find the bugs fun because even though I am in the ICT business it helps me understand how Leopard works. Glass half …
Right, now you have learned your lesson it's time to look after your OS X. Maybe once every 2 week go to Applications, Utilities, Disk Utility & do a 'verify & repair permissions' also pays to check your disk. You could buy DiskWarrior which is great and does a more …
iPhone that is not networked locked, user replaceable battery and large expandable removable memory. All restrictions removed. I love MAC but will put up with my Windows (yuk) PDA and even buy another one soon. Unless Apple does these things the novelty will wear off and other makers will get …
Use 'ClamXav' it caught 3 viruses last year for me.
Well I have 10.1.2 that I will never use but I am at the other end of the world and the 'dmg' is quite large. ??
Yep, that's right. There is no reason for the MAC not to mount the players mass storage card unless there is no direct access via the USB, as follows. I have a Trio phone that plays Mp3's that will not mount so I just put the card in a card …
Oh, you can try to reset the cmos via a jumper on the board, should be near the battery and marked. Shorting two of the pins should make it reload the cmos from ROM but your settings will change, like HD type etc. You will have to go into the …
To go one step further, dual boot to Linux. Yamaha make the greatest sound cards for their time, my favorite. I am a Windows user but love Unix based systems (Mac). Migration is not so bad, once your on your way you will wonder why you ever put up with …
I think I remember on some older drives you will need to put on a new MBR on the first seek track of the drive. The heads will look for it and if it is not there then the drive will seem to be absent. A program called Ghost can …
I had endless problems with the 1938 and now avoid it. Just getting it to run on any PC was a hassle. Mostly driver problems. If you get it to function correctly please post but mine was a pain.
You need first to find out if it is a user profile problem. Set up another account and log on to this one, it's always handy to have this. Use this account and see if it is only user specific or a system config problem. Another thing you should do …
Depending on which Darwin core you are using you may have to reinstall. Boot from the original cd by holding down the 'c' key until you see the Apple logo. Wait, read the screen!!! it may have the option of installing the OS leaving your profile (programs) intact. I have …
The G% is in panic mode, thinks there is an on board failure. Fans will run full speed to keep it cool as a precaution. Try removing things one at a time. PCI cards, ram or anything connected that may have failed. I removed a USB card to solve a …
Boot your system with the original OS X cd by holding down the 'c' key until you see the apple on your screen. Wait until the install menu appears. Look at the top and find disk utility. Run this and select your boot disk. Select 'repair permissions'. After this select …
You have every right to back up you OS. This is how you do it. I will assume you want to back up your cd. In disk utility make new image from inserted cd. Save to an obscure folder and not to the desktop! Once thats done go to get …
