hi Simonloa, as long as all unioned queries have the same type of columns, you can do a subquery and name result outside it: select SQ2.uid as id, SQ2.name, SQ2.username, ... from ( select distinct * from ( select uid as id... union select uid as id... union select uid …
The best approach is to add mysql_close() at the end of every page (as ajay_tabbu pointed out). You have also two options: 1) In ssh, mysql | kill <procid>, or 2) In my.cnf, wait_timeout = 600 (time is in seconds)
